We have always adopted sustainable practices. Not because they are fashionable, nor because they are a mandated business requirement, but simply because it is the right thing to do. This charter is our commitment to a sustainable future. In the next 5 years, we will embed 5 key pillars, to drive sustainability for the next 5 generations.

Resilient Terroir

Efficient use of the Natural Land

 
  • We are a member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, committed to demonstrating and improving our sustainability credentials through environmental, social and economic aspects of our business.
  • For every one hectare of vineyard that we own, we preserve or plant one hectare of native vegetation.
  • 60% of our vines are planted to drought resistant root stock, delivering water savings of 20%.
  • Insectariums - controlling insects with insects!

Viable Planet

Protecting the fundamental elements essential to life

 
  • We are an Applicant of International Wineries for Climate Action – a collaborative group of environmentally committed wineries working to reduce carbon emissions across the wine industry to Net Zero by 2050.
  • We are transitioning to lighter weight glass bottles, saving 9% in bottle weight and 19% in shipping volume.
  • We generate 2,800MWh of renewable energy every year, equivalent to 540 South Australian homes.
  • 100% of our vintage output is recycled, re-used or re-purposed.

Supporting our communities through sharing knowledge and resources is critical for prosperity.

 
  • We will continue to drive economic benefit in the regions in which we operate, from hosting community events and driving visitation to the region, to supporting our local producers and employing local people.
